Pilgrims from all the other Canary Islands also make their way to the locality of Mancha Blanca in Tinajo where the chapel is located, becoming for a few days the centre of Canarian traditional culture. In 2014, the Procession of Los Dolores will be held on Saturday, September 13th, with people departing from every corner of Lanzarote with the aim of reaching Tinajo, and then Mancha Blanca.

Parallel to religious activities, the Craft Fair is organised. This fair traditionally counts with stalls from local craftsmen, among which there will be traditional potters, ceramists, jewellers, silversmiths, engravers, leather workers, shoemakers, natural soap makers, perfumers…

In this 2014 edition, the Craft Fair will feature craftsmen from all the Canary Islands. The stalls can be visited freely until Monday 15th of September.

From early Saturday 13th September, processions will leave from every town in Lanzarote. However far from Mancha Blanca, from Playa Blanca o Arrieta, those who promised to honour the Virgin of Los Dolores will religiously fulfil their word.

Accompanied by traditional gastronomic products and ‘timples’ and guitars to boost the day, they make progress meter by meter until reaching the beautiful chapel of Los Dolores. When the Procession comes to an end, there’s a pilgrim mass and following, the dance of ‘the romero’ takes place.

Another event that transits around this tribute to popular canarian culture is the Folkloric Festival of Nanino Díaz Cutillas. This is an event that brings together leading dance groups and traditional music of Lanzarote. In this edition of 2014, the music event will take place on Friday 12th of September from 21:00pm onwards.
